The studio and the service
Caprelia is developed and operated by Crooked Finger Guild Software Development Service, a sole proprietorship registered in the Philippines, using the studio name Crooked Finger Guild. Privacy contact: [email protected].
Caprelia is an upcoming B2B SaaS platform for coaching businesses and their athletes, with web, iOS, and Android applications planned. Coaches create and assign training programs and review progress. Athletes follow their programs and record completed sessions.
A coaching business may also determine how its athletes' information is used. The final notice and business agreements must explain the studio's and each coaching business's responsibilities for those uses, including whether each acts as a controller or a processor.
Information and intended purposes
The app's planned service involves account and profile details, coach–athlete relationships, training programs, workout assignments, completed-session records, and progress information. The final app notice must also cover optional app features and their service providers.
The proposed direct Garmin integration has three purposes:
- Deliver planned training: send coach-created workouts to an athlete's Garmin Connect account for use with compatible devices.
- Review completed training: import completed activities into Caprelia so an athlete and an authorized coach can review progress.
- Support coaching: import selected daily health and recovery metrics to provide context for training discussions.
The exact fields and collection frequency have not been finalized. “Health and recovery” does not mean permission to collect every available metric. The final scope must identify any heart-rate, sleep, HRV, location, or other sensitive fields actually needed and the purpose for each. Historical imports and individual metrics depend on the access Garmin grants.
Permissions and coach access
The intended integration requires an athlete to choose whether to connect Garmin. Before launch, the connection flow must explain the data requested, its purpose, who receives it, and how to withdraw permission. Authorization must use Garmin's supported flow; the studio must not ask for a Garmin password in an app form or email.
Sending workouts to Garmin is a separate data transfer. The final flow must explain it and obtain the required permission, with a link to Garmin's privacy policy.
Connecting an account and sharing information with a coach require distinct controls. The planned design is to let athletes choose which coaches can access relevant information, and to revoke that access. Garmin-specific sharing, disconnection, and revocation behavior still needs implementation and verification.
Age eligibility for the Garmin feature and the wider coaching platform must be confirmed before launch.
Providers, locations, and other uses
The vendors and hosting regions that will process Garmin-sourced data are not yet decided. Before this notice becomes effective, it must identify the actual hosting, database, storage, backup, and support providers, their roles, relevant processing locations, and safeguards for international transfers.
Whether any Garmin health or activity content will reach analytics, error reporting, notifications, email, or AI services is also undecided. This draft does not authorize those uses or make a “no AI” or “no third parties” promise. Each proposed recipient and purpose must be resolved, disclosed, and checked against the applicable Garmin terms and privacy requirements first.
The company portfolio has a separate, optional PostHog analytics integration described in the website privacy notice. Consent to that website analytics does not grant permission to process Caprelia health information.
Retention, deletion, and privacy requests
The Garmin retention schedule is not yet finalized. The final policy must set periods or clear criteria for account links and tokens, imported records, derived summaries, workout exports, logs, and backups. It must also explain what happens when an athlete disconnects Garmin, revokes coach access, leaves a coaching business, or deletes an account.
Disconnection, withdrawal of sharing, and deletion are different actions. Before launch, the app must explain which action stops new imports, which blocks coach access, and which removes information already stored, including any lawful retention exceptions.
For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected]. Applicable rights may include information about processing, access, correction, erasure or blocking, restriction or objection, withdrawal of consent, and portability. The operational process for identifying, exporting, and deleting Garmin data must be verified before that data is collected.
Concerns may also be raised with the Philippines National Privacy Commission or another applicable data protection authority.
Before this notice takes effect
The final notice needs the confirmed data scope, privacy roles, providers and regions, legal bases and consent language, age rules, retention schedule, security and incident procedures, and working user controls. It must match both the app implementation and the Garmin agreement applicable to the approved account.
This page will be replaced with a complete, dated app notice before direct Garmin data collection begins. Until those decisions are complete, it should not be submitted as Caprelia's finalized privacy policy.
